Brian Chan

Brian attended Simon Fraser University and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Freshwater ecology. He has been a professional fisheries biologist for almost 30 years where much of his work has focused on managing literally hundreds of small stillwaters that dot the southern interior region of BC. Brian's love of fly-fishing has led to the development of a secondary career as an author, lecturer and video producer. Some of Brian's writing credits include

"Flyfishing Strategies for Stillwaters" and "Morris and Chan on Fly Fishing Trout Lakes". Brian has also been a contributing writer to several other fly fishing books such as "The Gilly", "The World's Best Trout Flies" and "Fly Fishing British Columbia". He currently writes a regular "Fly Fishing Biology" column for "Fly Fishing and Tying Journal" and contributes feature articles to several other fly- fishing publications. Brian has also produced several instructional videotapes including "Fly Fishing Stillwaters: Chironomid Techniques".
For over 15 years Brian has conducted Stillwater fly fishing strategy seminars as well as being a regular speaker at Federation of Fly Fisher conclaves, sportsmen's expositions and fly-fishing club functions.
