Barry Acton

Barry began in the broadcasting industry in 1988 while attending Loyalist College. After working at TV stations in Kingston and Pembroke, Barry returned to Ottawa in 1995. He has gained a wealth of experience by working with Global TV, CTV, The Discovery Channel, TV Ontario and other networks. He has filmed Canadian Peacekeepers in Haiti, did a documentary in Northern Quebec, covered the Prime Minister's visits to Rome,

Bosnia, Japan and Jamaica. Barry is an ardent skier and is a volunteer with the Canadian Ski Patrol System. Barry has fished all his life and in 1996 began to learn about fly-fishing. The great part about working with The New Fly Fisher has been all the information and experience he has gained. Best of all, the show allows him to film and fly-fish in his favorite place…the great outdoors!
